RESEARCH / OTHER EXPERIENCES
RESEARCH PROJECT
1. Worked as junior research fellow (JRF) at Department of Biophysics, All India institute of
medical science (AIIMS),New Delhi, on area of Sperm cell proteomics
2. Two year dissertation work under supervision of was Dr.Johaness Manjreker ,title of study”Curing of yeast prion [PSI+] and phenotypic study of diploids” & thesis also submitted.
SUMMERY
•[PSI] reflects the prion behaviour of the endogenous Sup35p protein release factor. exhibit a marked decrease in translational termination signals and presumably, the production of abnormally extended polypeptides.
[psi+] is a protein based heritable phenotype of the yeast saccharomyces cerevisiae which[PSI+] strain
•
I have attempted to cure yeast
milimolar concentration (5 milimolar,8 milimolar) of guanidium hydrochloride (GuHCl). After
several attempts to get cured isolate was obtained from
on medium containing GuHCl.
[PSI+] prions by growing yeast cells on media containingΣ817-3 strain, after four rounds of culture
•
After diploids construction,
[PSI+] diploids are showing better salt tolerance than [psi- ]
diploids, means presence of diploids, yeast prions some how contributing in salt tolerance of [PSI+]so dominant cytoplasmic inheritance of yeast prions confirmed.
3. Bioinformatics project Identification of
R-gene with respect to extracelluler domain in rice (Oryza sativa)
